The Hemet Woman’s Club takes pride in bringing together women from all walks of life and with a variety of interests and lifestyles. Together, we work towards community outreach. Through fundraising and volunteering efforts, our members have an opportunity to develop their personal leadership skills and project management skills by stepping into a chairmanship for one of our many club projects. Members often say they gain great satisfaction and pride in being able to make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community.

April is "Prevent Child Abuse" month and the Hemet Woman's Club partners with the Temecula Valley Woman's Club for the annual Pinwheel Project. Together we join GFWC clubwomen nationwide to educate the public, specifically vulnerable children, at our community schools about domestic violence. In April, 2016 over 1,900 students from the local McSweeny Elementary and Diamond Valley Middle Schools participated in this project. The children created an array of colorful pinwheels, many marked with an encouraging message, under the watchful eye of club members. The process was a collaboration of the teaching staff, enthusiastic students and volunteer club members. In addition to donating supplies, the Hemet Woman’s Club supported the school-wide festival all about awareness and prevention of domestic violence. Last year a colorful pinwheel garden was created and displayed in front of both schools. It was a spectacular sight and gave the community the opportunity to view and learn of the local efforts to share child abuse prevention. Members who helped last year said this was one of the most rewarding projects they had experienced.
The Hemet Public Library – our Community Improvement Project (C.I.P.) 2016 – 2017
We have already jumped into fundraising mode to support our new Community Improvement Project which began in January, 2016. Our first fundraising event was hosting a Ramona Playhouse event, ‘Beginner’s Luck’, performed by the Ramona Hillside Players troupe, that took place in March, 2016. And, it was a big success! Proceeds from this event, approximately $900, will go towards the expansion of the Children’s Library outside activities area. Fundraising and volunteering efforts for the new club season will launch with two large fundraisers in 2017. In January, we will hold a Bowling for Kids and in March, we will once again host a Ramona Playhouse event. Throughout the season, there will be a book drive, volunteer opportunities and outreach into the community to support the project. Our members will find several areas to lend a volunteering hand, such as the general Library, the Children’s Library, Adult Literacy, Friends of the Library book store and more. Child Safe Car Seat Project
One strong focus Hemet Woman’s Club has is the cause, Advocates for Children. One project that addresses this mission is with the awareness of correctly using child safety seats in cars. Correctly installing a child safety seat and having the correct size safety car seat can be challenging for families. The Club has joined forces with the California Highway Patrol by sponsoring a local child safety seat ‘check up’ project locally. During the event, while the kids are being entertained with activities such as coloring and balloon art, the CHP inspects each car and educates the parents to correct seats, installation and, if needed, supplies the family with a new child safety car seat.
